The four triggers
- A withdrawal above a threshold. The threshold is almost never published and this is the most common trigger by a wide margin.
- A change in pattern. A quiet account that deposits heavily and withdraws immediately reads as something to check, regardless of who is behind it.
- A route mismatch. Depositing by one method and withdrawing to another is a standard flag everywhere in this industry.
- Routine sampling. Compliance requirements unrelated to the individual account, which cannot be avoided by behaving differently.
Three of the four are partly controllable
Completing verification voluntarily before the first withdrawal moves the process from an urgent moment to an unhurried one. Withdrawing to the same asset and network the deposit arrived on removes the mismatch flag. Keeping a first withdrawal modest avoids the threshold, at the cost of making a second one later.
What is usually asked for
An identity document, a proof of address dated inside a recent window, and sometimes evidence of the source of funds where the amounts are large. The third is the one that takes time to satisfy, and it is worth knowing in advance that it exists rather than discovering it with a balance waiting.
What this means for choosing a site
The registration form is the least important part. The verification policy and the withdrawal clause are where the consequences live, and both are published before an account is opened.
More on how any of this works
The rest of how any of this works is below, each page built around one question rather than around a template. The reasoning behind the order of every list here is on the method page, the twelve entries are in the casino index, and the arithmetic that all of it rests on is in the learn section.
Wagering, worked through
The whole of a bonus's value is one figure times another. Here is the arithmetic in full.
House edge and RTP
What the percentage describes, what it does not describe, and why tonight is not covered by it.
The three stages of a payout
Only the last stage is the blockchain. The hours a player feels come from the two before it.
Checking a licence yourself
A badge in a footer is a picture. A register entry is a record. Here is how to get from one to the other.
